Yeah, GIF-files don't work very well with full colour pictures because of the 256 colours limitation, but I love the simplicity of an animated gif! ;o)

Amazing!
Congrats on finishing this model~
It's really awesome!

And also a question out of curiosity: For these models, do you actually draw out the 3D figure in Metasequoia or do you import all of them from the PlayStation?

Kinda both actually: for my video game papercraft models, I usually start with the game model.

But those are usually not very suited to make into papercraft models as they are (especially not from newer games which can have very detailed 3D models) so I remodel them using simpler, bigger parts that are (hopefully ;o) more fun to build (in this [link] on the left you can see the original game model from Oogie Boogie for example, in the center the reworked one, and on the right the final paper model)

Oooh, cool~! Is there a place where I can find these models on the internet or do they have to be strictly imported from the PlayStation?

And yeah, the original model looks soooo much more complicated, it require tons of patience to make that. xD Also I think Pepakura even gives us a message about the model having too many faces and the build time to be really long.

For some games, dedicated fans may have made a model viewer or some other tool that allows you to export the game's 3D data, but not for every game of course...

I always export the models myself, although I'm sure that other people will also have uploaded some of them to the internet somewhere. Try looking in fanforums of the game, that's usually a good place to start looking for fanmade programs if there are any.

Pepakura does tell you when your model has more polygons than it thinks would be suited for a good papercraft model, but hey, we're smarter than some computer program, right? ;o)

Ah, okay. I did find some anime models on a Japanese site. They're all Hexagreat files. Although they all have tons of faces and must be simplified first. I tried editing them to no avail. xD It's a shame 'cause many of them were cute.

Yeah, by far most 3D models you find on the internet are not made specifically with papercraft in mind of course. Most people who make 3D models focus on making them look all nice and curvy and detailed on the computerscreen, which means lots and lots of polygons... Simplifying the model for me is the most time consuming process of all.

But in the end, it's really just a matter of playing around using your past experience building paper models and making them yourself as a guide, so don't throw them away but save them somewhere on your computer or a CD-R and who knows in the future you'll feel more confident!

True.
And oops, I've deleted all of them already. ^^;
But I saved the site to my favorites so I can always go back and download the files again (and hopefully they'd still be there when I do.)

Well if I really like something and might want to use it in the future but maybe not right now, I always try to back it up on a CD-R or USB stick, because you never know if the sites might die on you or not... :(
